High School?

I'm going to be a junior in high school next year and I am concerend about my science class. I am in bio this year, and since I was lazy first semester, I am going to have to retake bio for the first semester of next year. Most juniors are going to be in chemistry next year, but I'm worried that since I failed the first part of bio my teacher will reccommend me to oceanography. And from what ive heard colleges like to see chemistry on your transcript. But I also know tons of kids that have failed chem.

And since I'm taking bio as my first semester elective next year, I am able to take 2 sciences at once.

High School?
Hay......you are worrying about this way ahead of time....yes, the colleges do like to see chem but it is something that you can work out , you just have to commit yourself to working harder......certain subjects don't come easy to certain students, I got a nice solid D in chem and still got in to the schools I wanted.....you don't sound like a student who is taking this lightly and that speaks more about you as a student than an A in chem........good luck.
Reply:Take what you want. Colleges offer intro chem for a reason, and they will equally weigh grades and class types.
Reply:usually the first half of the semester you can take biology again but you have to talk to your guidance consuler about thakiing chemistry the secind half of your semster so you can get those credit! (:
Reply:I would suggest that it depends on what you plan to major in college. If you are going into the sciences, then chemistry will probably be needed; however, if you are going into something in liberal arts that might not carry much weight. Whatever you take, make sure you keep those grades up, because that is what will really affect your admissions. You can always take Chem 101 in college.
