High school?

I'm starting high school this year, and I'm kind of worried. Is there anything specific I should and shouldn't do in order to keep my friends WHILE staying focused??

High school?
don't do drugs (dont worry, you're not gonna be ambushed by someone dealing crack as soon as you walk in the door lol!!!!) and just be yourself. it's no different than middle school other than the fact that it's WAYYY BETTER!!!! you have more freedom, the teachers (most of them at least) treat you like an adult and it's a great time to get away from those silly middle school stereotypes. theres far fewer cliques in high school than in middle school. you'll keep your friends and get new ones too. just don't let your social life take up all your time. you're going to have to do a LOT more work. use an agenda, stay organized (i choose to color code my subjects) and do assignments as soon as they are given to you. don't worry. high school will be great =]
Reply:well don't believe the rumors going around that say that freshmen get dumped in trashcans, get egged or beat up by upperclassmen because its not true. Also make sure you keep your grades up your freshman year because if you screw up you might end up like some of my friends who had to take summer school and adult ed this summer because they fell behind their freshman year. Don't keep anything valuable in your locker either because its most likely that it will get stolen especially if everyone knows you have something valuable in there and because of that don't give your combination to anyone because you never know who you can really trust. Make sure you be yourself and you'll be fine. If your friends don't want to hang out with you anymore because they think your changing then they aren't TRUE friends because they don't accept you for just trying to be yourself. And don't worry no one really cares about how you look in high school. Only the really immature people do but ignore them cuz they're jerks. You can also try out for sports which will look good when your applying for college(if you decide to go that is)
Reply:Do not date there boyfriend. I doubt that helped but it is right.
Reply:Starting high school is a new experience entirely, giving you many opportunities to meet new individuals through clubs and a more extensive list of sports and after-school activities. As you and your friends find niches in different clubs and start to gain interest in new subjects and languages, interacting with them in high school can become more of a challenge when your aim is to remain focused on your work and other assignments.

If you and your friends share similar interests, convince them to join clubs that you are considering to be a part of. This will allow you to have more time with them in an environment that embraces what both of you enjoy. You can even try to start your own club to manage - enjoying new friends in the process and contributing even more.

True, the amount of work you're given multiplies in high school, and a higher level of maturity and dedication is expected from your teachers while you're in the classroom. Most of my teachers had a low tolerance for discussions not pertaining to the subject, so, to avoid trouble, don't speak with friends that much during classroom hours.

Still, you won't be buried in work each day. Continue to see your current friends outside of school on a daily basis, and set up times when they can come over and study. It's not the most exciting thing to do, but it gives you all a common goal.

You'll make new friends, too, so don't be afraid to sign up for new clubs and activities. These are the years where you consider what path you want to take, but it's an extremely fun ride.

High school?!?!?

Reply:Well i`m going into 8th grade and i follow my own style like you but some how i wound up in a clique as you would say but the clique was just a big group of my friends,You can make your own inner circle and its always good to let ppl into it,I love making new friends and talking to ppl it makes me feel good so i think you should just be with your peeps thats what i did,When i first entered 7th grade i didn`t know any-1 except a few ppl but once i started talking to all kinds of people and stuff idk i guess we became a big clique of friends and diffrent ppl. Most of all i think you should stick with ppl that like you for you and they accept every thing you like the main thing is personaltys you can tell if some one is your real friend and when they aren`t so my answer would b stay with friends and b the best u can b!!!!

Best of wishes

Reply:people at my school would classify you as Emo, but I say, HANG OUT WITH ALL OF THEM!, you shouldnt hang out with certain people because of the way they dress or act. I fall between the clique, cause all that stuff doesnt really matter, and it shouldnt, so you shouldnt worry about cliques and stuff.
Reply:well you kinda sound like a classic prep so prolly preppy
Reply:DONT CARE ABOUT ******** CLIQUES!!!!!!!!!!! I CANNOT SAY IT ANYMORE CLEARLY!!!! PLEASE IF YOU EVER WANT TO BE HAPPY THEN DONT DO WHAT A ******** DUMBA.SS CLIQUE SAYS. I ******** HATE ALLLLLLLLLL ******** CLIQUES!!!!!!!!!!!

be a good girl and do get into that s.hit they will only make you feel like s.hit.

please i am going to be a senior and you really shouldnt try to be in a clique. i know it is scary. and i am a hypocrite i tried to fit in when i was younger but i would have been so much happier if i would have only made myself and true friends happy.
Reply:hey

well if you went to my school. you might well be in the horse mad girls. they are not know like that. basiclly they come from the MAIN highschool. so they've known each other long ago. and they normally dress the way you described. but if you are like i said.. at some point you will want popularity.. and be willing to risk quiet a lot.. mabye even horses for it. so mabye you will end up sticking to the friends you have now.. they are not mega popular.. but they have FRIENDS.. GOOD FRIENDS and they always seem to have a laugh.

hope this helped hun x
Reply:are you serious? Individuality!!!!!

lmao
Reply:it sounds emoish but you dont cut yourself
Reply:this is by far the most ridiculous question i have ever seen. if ur in a clique youll find out when u get there.
Reply:hmmm...depends where in the country you live

you could be emo/alternative/punk, at least that's what you'd be classified around where I live.
Reply:be ur own.
Reply:probably a rocker. but there's different cliques within cliques lol soooo just hang with whoever's nice and you'll find a place.
Reply:alot of people like you (Me) have REALLY diverse friends. at my school, you fit the bill of scene chick/skate kids/ stoner kids/ popular. I am sure you'll have alot of friends.

like you can hang out with a ghetto kid/jock/and a smarty pants in the same day. but if you are a party girl, you'll have alot of ghetto friends that are cool and stoner kids friends.

High school?

i'm going to high school this fall anytips? i will be a freshman.

how can i make new friends? how can i make a good impression? i'm kinda shy and i dont want to come off as rude or not willing to become friends with people.

please give me some advice!

High school?
as cliche as it sounds being you is really the best. also join some clubs play some sports its great way to meet new people who have the same interests as you. and by meeting them you meet their friends too. friendships take time to build so dont be dissapointed if your not super close friends with everyone after week one.

and have fun but dont get lead astray. highschool is Awesome but is filled with loads of temptations and peer pressure. and make sure your new friends have your best intrests at hand as well.
Reply:Just be you! other wise you might become someone who you don't want to be or become friends with people who will presser you in to doing things that you don't want to do.

High school?

This fall I am going to high school. What is a no-fail way to have a good first year? How can I make new friends? What about clothes?

High school?
im going to be a freshman too, and dont be scared and alot of people are but dont be to nervious because there is nothing different about high school, just new people, new teachers, big school, and bigger people. just hang on a few days by your self, and just be yourself and everything will fall into place. The clothes you dont have to dress up or nothing just try to look good in high school maybe even wear abercrombie or hollister, those are hot clothes, but yet expensive.
Reply:Hm, on orientation, you're going to all of your classes (I hope), say "Hi, I'm Tropicalparadise *smile*" to whoevers next to you, behind you, and in front of you. This worked for me. Be friends with everyone. Have fun, but don't forget about your grades.

Good luck! And take advantage of all the things offered.
Reply:There is no "no-fail" way to having a good first year. Just do the best you can, be yourself and try to stay out of trouble. You don't have to have expansive clothes. Just be neat and clean.
Reply:dont wear any clothes.

You'll make lots of friends.

LOL
Reply:just be yourself and wear the clothes you would normally wear to school

don't be very skanky or anything that would make the upperclassmen hate you
Reply:I'm too old to care about that crap anymore.....and thats just what it is......CRAP
Reply:hey me too
Reply:I just finished my first year of high school, in all honesty you really do just have to be yourself. Going into high school, I didn't do things differently than I did in junior high, it's really not a big deal. To make friends, you just have to talk to and be nice to people.

Don't even worry about clothes, I really don't know a single person who pays attention to that. Most people try and wear nice clothes for maybe the first week or two, and then after that its sweatpants and whatever else they're comfortable in. Just wear what you like.

I am probably the shyest person on earth, but I really loved this past school year.
Reply:well...at the very beggining don`t show off....stay a little in the shadow(not in a dorky way though....)....and see how is everybody.....then choose a group u would like to be in....and adapt.....:)

High School?

Alright, I'm a 14 year-old guy who is going into high school and i'm a bit worried about a couple of things. One of them is how different it's going to be, new people, a new campus, everything, and another is the girls, see, i'm not really the type of person who would approach any girl because i'm a shy person, so can someone help me with this?

High School?
I've just finished my freshman year in High School. After Middle School, I had the same worries as you. Don't worry about it, it's the same as middle school. The only difference is you go for credits. You are going to have a lot of fun. I did and that was just my freshman year.

About the girls...like the other guys said, just be yourself. It's better to be friends with girls that like you for who you are. If you act fake, they're going to find out sooner or later. Then they won't want to talk to you anymore. Losing a friend is very hard thing to go through. You won't want to experience it.

I learned from experience that if I had to act different to approach a girl, it would lead to problems. JUST BE YOURSELF.
Reply:well since i'm a girl i can say this: talk to girls! i'm sure that they want to talk to you! girls like guys that are outgoing! high school isn't just about dating just get to know girls as friend first and go from there! most of the time girls just want guys as friends(well to begin w/) Report It

Reply:Just be yourself. All will be well and you'll be more comfortable. You don't have to change a thing.
Reply:hey bro, first things first... be yourself. theres nothing worse than selling yourself short, dont change so that any other kids or girls will like you... being yourself is the best things you can do. find people who enjoy the same things you do. cliques are inevetable, but getting an education is what youre there for, so do your best...the better you can do in hs, the better off you'll be in college. good luck and dont worry to much, just enjoy it while ya can, you only get to do it once! ttyl bro, peace~

Jordan
Reply:well the girl problem - you should wait till your sophomore year to worry about girls. most of the people i know who were going out freshman year got preoccupied and didn't get good grades.

for the rest of your problems - that stuff takes time, remember when you went into 6th grade...you'll get into the swing of things with in the second week.
Reply:I wouldn't worry that much about High School. Are your friends going to the same school? Hang out with them. They aren't? Join clubs, teams, whatever you can. When your with friends it helps a lot and it doesn't seem so strange. You'll get used to the change.

And with the girls, well.... know that you don't have to approach them, for one thing. They could ask you. Also, I know everyone is saying this, but just be yourself. Note: They will appreciate you if you are honest. And be nice and thoughtful. Think about them once and a while. Give them presents just because. Be sweet and they'll like you.
Reply:Even though high school can seem scary, just remember, there are alot of people who feel the same way you do. Try to be freinds with someone else who seems nervous. Having a freind that understands can mean the world. Also, dont worry about being shy. There are plenty of girls who find that attractive. Just remember to smile if you like someone. They may be the one to make the first move. Enjoy HS. It's some of the most fun you will have in your life!!
Reply:My advice, don't worry about that stuff. High School is going to be the best 4 years of your life. With girls, just be yourself. Don't go out of your way to be out going. If you ever want to talk to somebody, feel free to contact me.
Reply:i will but i shouldn't. when you make the transition it is like going from first to second grade. or how about fifth to six grade. you are just older and hopefully that you have studied so that you are confident returning to school. i have already gone passed to the point now that i had to get a college degree and all the way up to passing the CPA exam. i was always thinking like you. would somebody just please help me! well the answer is no. you should be in the same boat as everyone else. but you are not going to be now do to the fact that i am helpling you. that is not fair. it is like you are asking for the cheat codes to a game. yes people get them all the time. did you learn anything? maybe yes. you now know how to cheat. everybody cheats. now that you know that someone is helping you. are you going to help others? no. Probably not. you will want to see someone struggle. just as long as you are not struggling. you need to respect the fact that you are struggling and that you need to overcome this life experience yourself. you are not going to develop as a person if you cheat. when you go to class, look around. act like you are struggling. you will notice that people will watch you struggle. those people who watch you are cheaters. the cheaters will watch to see if you overcome your problem that you are convinced that you have. they will laugh. those that have already experienced your problem will just watch and hope that you figured out what they did and learn from you. the moral is not to cheat. just face your problems head on and learn. you will develop as a winner faster than the cheaters. high school is not any different from anything else that you have already experienced. you will just get more of it. don't worry about the girls. they are worried 100 times worse than you. they are the ones that can get pregnant. boys are the devil. they are trying to find someone that they can have fun with. you need to think more along the way of making straight A's other than girls and the unknown. guys will help you keep afloat. girls will come when they feel safe enough. you need to be funny and interesting. become a good talker also. don't worry if you can't get a girl. i have met girls that are still single up to 40 or later. they don't have a direction. you need to think about how to be successful like bill gates. try to get a career as soon as possible. you are negative because you have a weak mind. educate yourself as soon as you can. don't listen to liars and idiots. before you graduate you will have college figured out. when you get there, you will see that everyone looks up to you. don't abuse you new powers that i have just given you.

High school???

what kind of clothes are "in" at high school? what are some good stores to shop at ?

what about make-up and hair?

thanks!

High school???
Stores like Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle, and Hollister.

Department stores like Macy's and Nordstrom also have clothes teenage girls like and they also carry make-up.

For ideas, grab an Elle magazine at the supermarket and flip through it for ideas.
Reply:holloster ,american eagle, areopostal, um aprocrambe and finch.
Reply:My daughter buys most of her clothes at Pac Sun

I think it depends on your style. There is a Great online store

15dollarstore.com it carries a lot of the "in" clothes and if you log onto Alloy.com you can pick stuff up on sale for like 9.00
Reply:High School sucks!!!!!! Clothes... if you're not into designer crap, just shop at Macy's, Kohals, or Mervyn's.

Never buy your clothes at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, or Target.

Popular shoes: Converse All Stars, Vans, Sketchers, Nike. Never shop at Payless Shoe Source (They're shoes suck.)

Make-up. I'm not a girl, so I don't know. I hope I helped. Good luck. High School is hell.
Reply:Wear what you like instead of trying to fit in.My style changed through out highschool.I went from american eagle and abercrombie to dickies, converse, and band shirts to emulating what was in vogue to designer jeans and salvation army shirts and flats.Try different things to find out what YOU like instead of whats going to impress others.

Reply:i went through all four years in nothn but some nipple tassels and a leather thong

i suggest that u do the same
Reply:haha...ummm abercrombie%26amp; fitch, hollister, American eagle, Coach....ull fit rite in.
Reply:I love American Eagle. Its not that big of deal though, wear what you like and feel comfortable in. Hair is good down. Makeup should be natural because it is only school and you shouldn't look like you are going out or something.
Reply:it depends on your style and what YOU like, wear whatever you want.
Reply:a%26amp;f, hollister, aeropostale, american eagle, there are many more too go to the mall!

High school?

Ok, im a sophomore in high school, I have almost all A's right now, but for my freshmen, and the first semester of sophomore year I messed up. Should I try and retake all the classes that I got D's in ? Even if I got A's from now until senior year would colleges not accept me because of how I messed up for the first year and a half ?

(I know community college is an option, so please give me other ones)

High school?
Its pretty common knowledge that colleges focus most on the sophomore and junior years. I would reccomend (if you are up to it) signing up for AP Classes that will boost your GPA and your transcript. Colleges will take notice if you start getting hardcore in difficult classes. However, don't write off the community college route, it'll save money on top of making it easier to get into the school of your dreams. Oh yeah don't make the mistake of retaking classes, it will just slow you down and you won't ultimately gain much, if any, kind of standing from repeats.
Reply:you definately don't want to be in high school forever. but at the same time its unreasonable to get A's in every single class. just keep going and do your best

High School?

I'm a freshman in high school. First I am not trying to be full of myself or anything. Just going tell you about myself. I am a wealthy white suburban boy. With no problems. Some times I wish life was harder just to have some real life struggles. I am in all honors classes, straight A's, and three sport athlete, play freshman, jv, and varsity. I am pretty good looking. I am friends with everyone from the most popular kid to the losers. I dont really hangout that much though even though I could. I have some sort of practice or game everday so it is not like I am an hermit. So you might be wondering my question. Why do I feel like I want to be poor or dumb. Or just that average kid. My athletic friends joke around that I am to smart, smart kids joke I am too athletic. Everything seems perfect except somethings missing. Life isnt suppose to be this bubbled world were everything is perfect. I need challenge I need trouble I need to experience something to work for. Please Comment.

High School?
you should enjoy it while it lasts

p.s. i love how you say from the popular kids to the "losers", that show how shallow you really are (no offense.)
Reply:maybe you need a change in life? idk

if i were you i wouldn't complain, i would trade lives with you. my life is boring and stuff like that, ya know?

do u have a job? if not get a job?

maybe you need to travel or something?

get a new hobby?

maybe you feel as if " your pressured" because everyone exspectes so great of you. i know that happened to me b4.

actually a bunch of times. because i usually do good in school and then if i have friends that get a higher mark then me that makes them sooo happy. idky tho.
Reply:omg thats like my cousin's friend in canada exact same situation...

No one could help he did outdoor activities still unhappy but then he saw her!!!!!

Sampadha she was the most pretty girl in school very mysterious, he tried everything to get with her!

He broke all rules just to see her talk to, though she liked him alot she was shy but very mysterious he would follow her just to make sure shes okayy!

HE WAS IN LOVE thats what he was missing love!!!

I dont know what to say but this was similar to your story so I wrote it down for you...

Good luck and dont worry everything will be fine!

try outdoor activites!
Reply:i know exactly how you feel....all my life opportunities have just fell in my lap....ive never really had to work for anything.... you feel like you need to be poor or dumb or do something crazy really just to fit in...thats the whole reasoning behind it...we feel like we dont fit in..were underappreciated...thats all..you dont need trouble you...and i can understand the whole need for challenge...but you just need to continue being you...if youre not yourself then who are....youll be just like everyone else....we cant help who our parents are and what kind of living situation we are born into it just happens...its life.....everyday of my life is spent in some sort of dance, orchestral or piano practice....but yet and still i have time for my friends...maybe you should try getting a job so that you can see how challenging it is to work in the real world...and if you do get one dont have an attitude of "i dont need this or i dont have to work i can ask my parents...give the job your all...so everything may seem perfect but it may not be...your parents may portray this lifestyle of nothing being wrong...and may only be doing it to protect you...so be grateful for everything it is that you have....~*God Bless*~
Reply:Being great in school will benefit you in the future...believe me. You don't want to be dumb. That shouldn't be an option to you. Kids in highschool are always going to want you to pick a side or a click. You DON'T have to. That's why they say things like you are too smart or too athletic. You shouldn't worry about this because the same kids you see now in school will be working a part time job in the mall after highschool with you. Wanting to be something your not at a young age is typical. It's because you want to fit in in some level. Don't let what kids tell you bother you. You shouldn't be anything that your not. You should just be you and why would you want to be something else than a straight A student who's smart and atheletic. You know that you can be both. There is no such thing as too smart or too good in sports. When they tell you these thing just simply reply back with a "So....?". They won't be able to answer back or they will answer back with something stupid. Keep up with the straight A's and the sports. You'll be great one day.
Reply:I am like you in alot of ways wealthy family no struggles etc and i have been thinking the same thing so.. i got a job it provides challenges etc and its pretty good at weekends. Although if that doesn't work why don't you try new hobbys i am starting archery.
Reply:i'm not the only one??? i like being alone it gives me time 2 think. u could try not being involved in so many sports so u can go different places and meet new people

High school?

next year im finally going to high school. what are some things i need to keep in mind so im not completly hated

High school?
Be friendly to people, give everyone a chance, don't be the teachers pet, and get good grades.
Reply:just stay in ur books and dont cause any trouble. Go to school to get an education not go to play around
Reply:don't be fake, be your self, don't trust everyone and everything you hear, have fun, make GOOD decisions, do say anything or do anything to offend people, make good grades, hmm try your hardest!

What was high school like for you??

I have no idea what to expect next year and just want to know what are some things you can get involved in.

Since my friend didn't make cheerleading we're trying to find out some other things we could do. we're pretty much up for anything, but i'm not the brainy type.

no rude answers allowed!

thanks much! :]

High school?
It is the first step to comprehend you teenage......i belive this is first step of your understanding, where you can realize/feel the truth behind the curtains.
Reply:OmG...i am going to highschool next year, too..i am ptretty nervous... well..i just wanted to let you know your not alone...good luck.
Reply:High School is pretty much the same as Middle School, only with more people and more classes.

You could get involved in sports, or maybe an afterschool activity (such as clubs).
Reply:I enjoyed High School - I'd go back if I could!

I've never been a joiner, I was more interested in having a laugh with my mates. I spent most of my time talking during lessons, lord knows how I managed to pass all of my exams!

Anyways, I guess you'll just have to check out what's available and try them out to see if you like it, you can just try them out and decide not to join, right?
Reply:You can try clubs at your school or try other sports like volleyball, tennis, track and field or something you think you enjoy to play or something that doesn't have to be sports. Like get involved with community service or something thats what I can tel you.
Reply:there aint nothing to be worried about the only difference is that people tend to fight and cuss more then in middle school but the big difference is that in high school is when grades really matter to get into a good college.
Reply:Boring

High school?!?

im freakin out here! im in 8th grade and im about to go to high school. any tips on the following?:

homework

organization

teachers

friends

socializing

clubs

in class work

note taking

stress

High school?!?
homework--it depends on your teachers but some teachers give hwk and then you don't really have to do it b/c they don't count it as part of your grade. it's for you to learn. tests are worth so much more in high school.

organization--be organized as best as your can. use you agenda; it will help a lot

teachers--be nice to them to their face, but you can do whatever when they're not looking. it really helps to have a few teachers to be super nice with since you'll need them for college recommandations.

friends--try to have friends from all social groups. and especially try to find (nice) upperclassmen friends.

socializing--do it enough but not too much or you'll end up failing all your classes

clubs--join lots. idk if it's the same w/ your school but most of the clubs at my school don't require you to be always there. it's a great way to meet upperclassmen friends.

in class work--try to find good groups when you do group work. you teacher often doesn't care if you did your part really well and your group members did horrible; you get an overall grade that you al have

note taking--i felt that it was the same as middle school. if you miss notes, don't freak cauz often times the info is also in your txtbk

stress--take time to relax. don't worry too much cauz after these 4 yrs of school, you'll most likely be going to a diff college then your classmates and whatever embarrasments and stuff happened will disappear!!

have fun!!!
Reply:Ok =)

homework= DO IT!

organizitation= BE ORGANIZE

TEACHERS- JUST BE NICE

friends- YOULL HAVE FRIENDS =)

socializing= After SCHOOL activities..TALK

CLUBS=YOU MEET COOL PEOPle%26gt;.A MUST

NOTES=not a big deal

STRESS- do your homework mostly at school.

dont think to hard.

wear comfy clothes.

AND HAVE FUN !!

HIGH SCHOOL IS FULL OF DRAMA AND FINDING YOURSELF =)

best of luck
Reply:High school is so over rated. It's just like middle school, except you have a wider variety of classes.
Reply:Um..stop. High school is lame. You'll hate it. Do the work and in 4 (3 years for me, I graduated early =P ) you'll be out, and in COLLEGE that's when you should really freak, mahuahahaha!!!!!!
Reply:I'm freaking out too, because I'm in eighth grade and I just focus on what is important. If your A/B honor roll like me you will be fine.
Reply:Just enjoy it and get involved in as many things as possibble...

Its gona go by real fast so just make the best of it...

make sure you have all your credits...

and most importantly HAVE FUN!!!!
Reply:Definitely get involved in a club and a sport. You'll meet people and have something to think about other than schoolwork, and it's a good stress reliever. Be nice to the teachers. It will get you far. Don't let your grades slip to the point of no recovery. Failing a class is lame. Unlike middle school, they don't just pass you along if you don't make the grades. Keep your stuff organized and have a planner so you can keep track of due dates and stuff like that. That will keep you from getting stressed out too. Be yourself and be nice to other people.
Reply:Have you done a Yahoo search on these topics? I'm sure you can find a site that gives you general advice on dealing with high school. Devote several hours each night to homework. If the teacher wants you to read one chapter of the textbook each week, then do it. Don't fall behind or you'll have 10 chapters to read the night before the test. Make friends, join clubs, take notes, avoid stress.... you'll be fine and find your way through it.
Reply:Ha! Me too! I'm starting high school next year (And I'm in 8th grade)

Except I'm not freaking out about it. People had gone through the same thing, and most of them are fine now.

Go online and look for some articles about starting high school, or ask your older siblings and parents.

One thing I know is ALWAYS do your homework. You'll fall behind in class if you don't. And try being on the good side of teachers, it makes things easier on you.

High school?

High school.?

next year im going to high school and im wicked scared. the grade above mine hates us and the girls are so mean. i dont know what to do and im soooooo scared. help?!

High school.?
just stick with your friends and you will be ok..ignore those girls, they are only making fun of other people cuz they are insecure about themselves!! good luck!
Reply:When you start high school just make good friends and don't worry about those girls. They probably have really low self esteem if they are so mean all the time. Relax and be yourself! Have fun!
Reply:please. im a freshman this year. its not that bad.
Reply:There's nothing to be afraid of... Remember, they used to be like you. High School is where you compete with each other intellectually for the most part. Physically... ehhh... not so much, unless you're enrolled in any atheletic classes. Why do they hate you? Anyway, you can make them love you if you help them. I remember when i took Calculus BC my junior year. Most of the people in that class were seniors and at first they didn't care much about me. They shouldn't right? since you're somewhat lower than them intellectually. Things began to change when i surpassed them.... They started to ask me more questions regarding any problems. It just takes time for them to realize your true potential. Have fun in high school! The transaction from high school to college is much more scarier.

PS: Don't worry about girls for now... they can be troublesome
Reply:I exactly like you when I was about to go to highschool. IT wasn't bad at all. You get to meet alot of different people with the same interests as you and its very fun. Highschool is the most funest 4 years of your life. Once you in highschool, there will be so much drama.

Have fun.

=))

Please answer my question too!

Reply:i would be scared girls are mean but just stick with your friends and you'll be ok its not like you'll have a bunch of classes with them if any. ahah people in my grade hate the upcoming freshman and will give them hell but yah you did something for them to hate you and thats on you
Reply:I"m going to a different highschool next year too!

yeaa and no one i know is going there.

not even my friends..

just ONE person

and I don't think the ABOVE GRADE would hang out with me

guess I"m alone in this

but I would just try to make friends

since i'm labeled "tomboy" here I"d make guy friends too

butt i wouldn't hang out with the nerdy crowd or geeky in anyway

but i wouldn't try to interfere with the populars considering im not in that clique or level yet. thats how i made my way up in middle school

no standing up to them is what i did ha!

we're practically best friends now

but now that high school is coming

i start at the bottom again.. =/
Reply:breathe in, breathe out. no one can make you feel inferior without yourconsent. tape this to your locker: (its on mine :)!)

it's ok to be shy and accept a compliment. but whats so wrong w/ standing up straight and saying, yeah i am great?

everything is ok in the end

if its not ok its not the end
Reply:Hahah no you'll be fine :]

I was scared, too but it hardly mattered.

Just don't get involved with anyone's drama if you don't need to. Especially if it deals with people in grades above you.

They won't do anything to you.

You'll like high school, don't waste a year worrying about older people, you'll have to deal with them for three years.
Reply:. I remember back in 1937 when I was in Middle Skool, I hated Everybody!

You'lll be ok.

High school???

im going to high school next year im a bit

scared .

will it be ok????

High school???
Its just like middle school..you're just going from the top of the food chain to the bottom! You gotta work your way to the top again!

High school?

What were your high school days like? Were there a lot of competition? How did cliques treat each other? Was there a spot for loners? Give some anecdotes. And tips would be appreciated for I will be going to HS next year.

High school?
There were more cliques then ever than finally got along senior year. Be yourself, and try not to offend anyone
Reply:THey are wonderful.thier was a lot of competition and buzz with homecoming, prom, cutest girl cutest boy all of that. the cliques don't pay attention to the other ones it's like you don't exist. I would say no but the loners don't ever socialize so how wld we pay attention.a memory that just Happened is geek day it was part of spirit week me and my bff dressed up and she had the grannys glasses pants jaked up it was so funny. tips dont bother the seniors and the seniors won't bother you thier too hyped up to be worrying about freshmens and just be yourself
Reply:It was exactly like those movies where everyone looks like they're in their mid-twenties and something terribly meaningful and life-changing happens every spring.

No, it wasn't. It was pretty much the opposite.
Reply:I am a tenth grader and there is a section for whites, asians, loners, emos, latinos, friends, sluts, losers, gangsters, and special people. My advice is stick with your friends and try and make good friends and DONT get invovled with people opposite you (EX: dont hang out with sluts if you are clean). Just enjoy school cuz its really cool (HS that is). Dont be afraid either cuz as long as you have your friends school wont be scary for you.
Reply:my school just had football competition, there were some loners it was a really big school with over 5000 people. dont slack of in any year than your senior year will be a piece of cake
Reply:My advice to you don't get involved with cliques. If you do you want graduate.Don't hang with girls there nothing but trouble.Don't let anybody press you into sex.Don't change the way you are.If somebody pick on you ignore them they just jealous.Keep your head in the books.Don't be a school drop out.Don't wear makeup.Don't hang around any body negative.Found somebody positive to hang around. The reason I'm telling you this because that's the way my high school was.The girl didn't want to learn. They got pregnant at a young age. They drop out of school. The guy that got them pregnant graduate. And went to college. Its better to be a loner. Its going to be girl who want to fight you.My advice to you is to learn karate.
Reply:Bleachers Creatures Cowboy corners hippies
Reply:Yes there were a lot of "cliques" but the trick is to treat everybody nicely. I was never mean to anybody and therefore nobody was ever mean to me.
Reply:a lot of bitter-sweet memories...LOL

High School?

Hey everyone! I'm going into high school next year and I have to pick my courses. I really want to get into an Ivy League or another really great college. For my main courses, I'll be taking all honors. But what encores should i take? Do they want to see diversity more or really hard academic courses? Here are some of the courses we can take. Which ones do you think i should take? Thanks so so much.

French, Spanish, Latin, Honors Science Research, Foundations of Art, Piano, Guitar, Chorus, Current Music, Theater Arts, Studio 2d, studio 3d, keyboarding, intro to computers, honors visual basic 1, Honors computer science, Child Developement, Clothing, Applied Nutrition. THANKS

High School?
Colleges like to see you taking some of the same courses every year to know that you stuck with it. Pick a language that you think you would be interested in.....I took spanish for four years and now I am going to spain this summer with my school. I highly recommend taking a computer course because you will use it a lot during college....my older brother regreted not taking any computer courses during his high school career and so now he is struggling with some of the programs that they use at his school. You should definitely take at least one fun class for yourself.....it is definitely a relief in the middle of the day.....Hope I helped you a bit....;-)
Reply:Colleges want well-rounded individuals. That means that they need kids who can maintain a 4.0 and still take the campus choir sports team to nationals as well as hold a student government position.

What classes should you take in high school to become a Lawyer??? thats my dream job!!!

High School!!!!!?
Pre-law majors are immersed in reading and writing, so now’s the time to polish your skills. Read as much as you can. Get engaged in your English courses and strive to write well. History, political science, and language courses will also be valuable. Remember, the key is to build knowledge in a wide variety of subjects.

High School?

Ok im 14, Im in High School. I am taking Team Sports (or P.E/Gym) and we have to do a pacer test(fitness test). Part of that requires us to get weighed, i weigh 160-170 and I am 5'5 %26amp; 1/2 and I work out, im not buff/ripped but my bicep is visible, not like this%26gt;http://imgs14.stockmediaserver.com/th170... its more like http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbvi...

Im worried that people might laugh and plus I feel I might be the heaviest in class, any advice to make me feel better?

High School?
DUDE LiKE DONT WORRY BOUT WHAT PEOPLE SAY BECAUSE iF THEY ARE SO PREOCCUPIED ABOUT TALKiNG BOUT YOU JUST MEANS YOU'RE BEiNG THOUGH OF.THiNK OF iT LiKE THAT.AiNT NO ONE PERFECT SO THEY CAN GET OVER iT.i SAY GO FOR iT
Reply:You sound like you have the same kind of build I do. It doesn't matter if you're the heaviest. 170 isn't really fat at all, don't worry. You sound like you have muscles anyway, so I think you're fine.

PS. Clearly the person above me is a genius. Everyone knows Caps Lock makes you look cool. /sarcasm
Reply:Don't worry about weight-look at how you look. I'm 5'4" and a girl and even at my smallest when I wore size 3 and looked totally skinny I still weighed 125 lbs. My daughter looks like a Victoria Secret model at 14 and weighs the same. It is like we are more solid or something. I watch shows were people loose 20 lds and its so much diff! I lost 60 lbs last year and wear a teen size 8-I still weigh 170lbs! Don't listen to anyone but your mirror
Reply:If someone openly makes a comment about you, they obviously have low esteem themselves. Anyone who needs to put others down to make themselves feel better is not worth the thought. Be the bigger person, ignore it. There will be a lot of ignorant, stupid people that you encounter in your life.

High School?

I'm starting to doubt that "High School, the best years of your life" saying. So far it stinks . I have crap teachers. And my parents are complaining about my grades and stuff. yes i used to be straight A student and now I'm getting B's out of the blue. Is this normal or did you all have "PERFECT SMARTASS LIVES" %26lt;-not trying to insult anyone. (Note: How i've seen it, people who show off or bring out elaborate props or annoying I'm better than you acts during group projects are the ones who are PERFECT SMARTASS LIVES. They think they're so great and are dam hypocrites. It's sad to know that those people don't know that they are such easy targets for Jokes and insults. It's funny to watch sometimes.)

High School?
I'm 43 and quite successful, I barely graduated from high school. I went from As to Bs to Cs and a couple of Ds. I think education in general and high school in particular are over rated.

Definitely not the best years of my life.

The only thing that's important is that you're smart and you have a good attitude.

You seem pretty smart but kinda angry.

Those people with PERFECT SMARTASS LIVES they get that way from being afraid of their parents, teachers other kids, bad grades, you name it.

The fact is life isn't that hard, take care of your self and treat others the same way you want to be treated and you be just fine.

It's only 4 years and then your FREE!
Reply:College is harder but way funner.
Reply:There is nothing wrong with getting all A's. High school is great fun and what is your question?
Reply:Life gets better so you have something to look forward to
Reply:School days the best years of your life? How horrible would life be if that were true?
Reply:High school is the Best because you dont have to pay any bill yet you still have a lot of freedom or at least thats what old people looking back on their childhood say. And get used to B's i used to get a TON of a's and now i get a few b's and even a c but that was from a crappy teacher, just look at the bright side, whatever yours is and get through it.
Reply:High school definitely encompasses some of the most INTERESTING years of your life. I think if you ask any adult "is it true high school is the best years of your life?" they will look at you funny. You sound like you are new at it. I hated teenagers even when I was one. They all make fun of each other and are all fooled into thinking that some dumbass fellow 15 year old actually knows what the hell they are talking about and are some sort of authority in what "being cool" entails. No offense but teenagers don't have their sh*t together. I didn't, all my friends didn't and you and all your friends don't. That's why high school is interesting. It's the years when you start to get some of your sh*t together. College furthers this process. I'm told you sort of get a grip in your 40s...but not much of one =) Anyway I know you won't listen to me but don't stress it. But you will stress it anyway. Trust me...the hormones make not stressing it impossible for most. But just remember...if some fellow high school kid makes fun of you, guess what, some other high school student makes fun of them too. And they're all dumbass teenagers that really don't know much about life yet. If you keep that in mind, high school will be very AMUSING.
Reply:high school is so much fun when youre high all the time :D
Reply:It's OK. I'm a freshman and my grades dropped form all A's to B's too. I decided to drop a few extra curricular activities and really work hard on my studies. And some smart people can be perfectly fine. Just because you choose not to doesn't mean you can take it out on those of us who are smart when we work hard. (I get all A's now because I work at it.)
Reply:No way is HS the best years of your life. I hated it, too.

Grades go down usually because classes get a lot harder. Keep studying.

Thankfully HS only lasts 4 years at most if you're smart.

College is a lot better. You don't have to hang around people you don't like as much.
Reply:Sounds like ur a freshman and so far your just starting. It'll get better and if u have close friends and nice people around you its defiantly the best years of ur life
Reply:Its the best years of your life to the idiots that are going to have menial jobs, and get their HS "sweetheart" pregant at the prom, then marry her and stay in podunk USA for the rest of their lives.

If you are going to go out and get any half way decent career, the fun is when you graduate college, get your own apartment, and start banging chicks. Getting a good buzz and banging chicks never gets out of style, as long as you dont knock her up.

High school?

wat should i be prepared for in high school

High school?
Unfortunately, you need most to be prepared either to be the victim of persecution from other children, and apathy from school officials -- or you need to be prepared to persecute those that might try to oppress you.

High school is about finding out where you fit in the pecking order of life: either you're a beyatch, or you find a way to make others your beyatch. There is no such thing as civility in life: it's just a fantasy that beyatch-makers use to keep their prey in-line.

Strike first and show no mercy -- or don't. It's up to you where you end up in life.
Reply:The greatest years in your life.... So take care of them!
Reply:Well to start off with there is alot of drama, about stupid things like "His/her shirt dont match their shoes. People making rumors to start even MORE DRAMA. Highschool is very petty and filled with alot of immature people.
Reply:It varies from high school to high school.

Only three things matter:

1) Friends - you don't want to look like a loser all by yourself

2) Courses - take classes that matter; don't take "cake" classes just to get by

3) Image - you don't have to wear A%26amp;F, Hollister, and all that; you just have to look good and know how to dress

* Cliches are another factor, but that's not a problem at my school though.

Other than that high school is pretty smooth.

Just have fun and enjoy the next four years with your peps because after that you're on your own with college :%26lt;
Reply:teasing, and people you don't like. but don't worry God will help you.
Reply:Freshman Friday! Ha just kidding.

Okay so you want to be prepared for highschool?

Just be yourself. Sure everyone says it but its true. Or you might just find yourself living a facade for the next 4 years of your life.

You should be prepared for some though decisions. Drugs, Sex, and Alcohol. Think about your prioritys and your beleifs. Do what you think is right.

You should also be prepared for the immature upperclassmen. There aren't that many of them but they're still some. And unless your male, about 100 pounds, and are shorter than 5 ft, you should have no problems.

And most importantly be prepared for the best and worst times of your life.

I'm only in my first year and i've experienced them both.

Good luck!

HIgh School?

How can i find out what high school i got into?

HIgh School?
Call your board of education and ask them.

High school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

hi i'm about to go to high school and i'm not sure if this is a good start? well i am going to take ap english, ap history, biology, geometry, japanese1-2 and i'm taking an extra 7th period. i can't do sports cause i am taking an extra 7th period:)

High school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
If you like sports than drop the 7th period and compete with sports. Colleges and Universities love students who are well rounded. It is great to be intelligent, but can you share your intelligence with others? Are you able to get along with people socially? Most sports provides you with ample opportunities to be a leader, encourage others and build self-confidence along with keeping a good figure.

Besides, who receives more money from colleges, the jocks or the highly intelligent? You decide.... Or you can have the best of both worlds to increase your odds. Good Luck.
Reply:that's a good start goods luck with the grades. high marks are impressive to college recruitersa
Reply:It sounds like you're taking a good course load. Make sure you learn to budget your time and stay focused, though. Good luck! :-)
Reply:Yep, that sounds a lot like a schedule for a junior, so I would say it's a great start for a freshman!
Reply:it is a good start because you settle in the morining with english, history and biology wich will be really fun and geometry, japanese and a 7th period will be fine with the day ...just dont get overwelmed....the best of luck to you and may the force be with you
Reply:who starts high school in march? or are you just forecasting? err. but thats a good schedule... ap classes can be tough though. consider yourself warned.
Reply:Yes this is a good start! Go ahead !Wish you all the best!!
Reply:High school should be a balance between academics and sports, in my opinion. It's great that you're taking so many advanced classes and that you're challenging yourself academically. But don't forgo the opportunity to meet new people, challenge yourself physically, and excel in other areas of your life as well. Sports and extracurricular activities are wonderful opportunities for you to learn outside the classroom and to contribute to your school in different ways. Balance.
Reply:ap classes are really good but they r way to hard...but if u can deal wit it its good...and plus u get good credit for these classes and it will look good on ur high school transcript
Reply:Hey, high school is what you want it to be. Some say that its the best years of your life- but I don't think they're correct because those years are what you make of them.

I see that you're taking two AP classes and let me warn you: Those can kill you if you can't handle them. A friend of mine is taking three AP classes in his junior year and every night he is up until at least 3 AM. I don't mean to scare you, in fact I encourage you! Just make sure that you can handle the amount of work and dedication, but if you're good at organizing and such then you shouldn't have a problem.

You do have a good start, better than my own! =) Good luck to you!
Reply:Are you insane! High School is a place to enjoy your time. I know getting into college is important, but so is having a good time.

AP classes are good, but lose the Japanese (its impossible). Take something easier instead.

High school?

Track is about to start soon. and I have not praticed at all. This is my first time joining a sport team and I feel like I should not do it, but I alwyas wanted to join some sports. I want to run the long distance. Do you think I should join Or what? this is my last year of high school.

FYI. I only weight around 145. so it is not about being fat and all. its just that I am new at this. and I am expecting other people to be way better.

High school?
Do whatever you want to. Just fallow your heart.

Though you must know something: Later in life you will regret the things you never did, not those you did.

Enjoy! ;)
Reply:yea go for it! have fun your last year it goes to fast make more friends!

Best of luck ♥
Reply:Coincedentally, I ran track only my senior year after not participating in it since jr. high.

I placed 6th in district in the 400m, but because I hadn't came up in the program and worked out as much, i was naturally out of the relay mix and the shorter distances. I ran cross country and the 800 was my main race- OUCH thats a killer.

Get in all the work you can, you'll be behind the others but you can still make a good account of yourself if you're dedicated to succeeding and hard work. Pay attention to technique in the endurance events- it can help you make up being behind in your training.

Whatever you do, stick it out and give it your best. You won't regret it and when you look back it will be an accomplishment you'll be proud of.
Reply:Truthfully you should go for it.I mean its your last year of high school and you gotta give it all.For long distances (i also run track, but short distance) i would say run the 800 and the mile (1600) or just the 1600.For trainning to run it: start out easy, start with just a quarter mile, then half, 3/4;s and finally run the full mile. You just have to keep working hard to get your stamina and endurence up.Also during a race, dont sprint in the begining, even if the others do, you;ll make up ground later in the race.

P.S.- You should be running the mile under 6 min. in high school. If the mile doesnt work out, go with the 800, because you;ll have experience from the 1600.Hope i helped you out, and good luck!
Reply:If you have not ran track before it may be hard your first few weeks. But after that you will have a good work out run track. Also since this your last year than you run track if you do money for college this is a good way to get it
Reply:you will never now to u try . im a long distant runner to and i dont train at all and i still do it dont worry about being beat u need to have fun and its ur last yeAr go for it

High School?

Ok, I'm 16, and a junior in high school, and this freshmen boy in my class keeps staring at me, and its starting to get annoying. I dont want to be rude, but how do I let him know that its starting to seriously get on my nerves.

High School?
He knows that YOU know he's staring.

So stop noticing. Don't look at him at all. Then it won't matter if he's staring....because you won't know.
Reply:I'm that boy, I can't help it, is that hair sticking out of your mole.
Reply:hit him, then tell him its not nice to stare
Reply:turn around and say its not polite to stare. im sure he'll stop
Reply:I would get a friend of yours to talk to him.Get them to ask him to stop staring. That you have not noticed it but they have. It would be much less embarrassing for him. It would also be much less weird for you.
Reply:Well first ask him if he likes you he probobly does so then just tell him you don't like him and tell him to stop
Reply:Clip him...i mean thats what i would do
Reply:Action Options:

Stop noticing him. He's only doing it cos he KNOWS it gets to you.

stare back at him with your eyes crossed.

turn around to look at him slowly, a la Linda Blair, and tell him, in a veeeerrry high voice, "It's impolite to stare, Brian." even if his name isn't Brian.

Or go up to him and say one of the following:

"take a picture it'll last longer"

"Whatchu lookin' at, ***-eyes!?" courtesy of Major Payne

"stop looking at me, it's kinda freaking me out"

he probably wants to go out with you. freako. don't worry about it, freshmen have short attention spans.

High school.?

how was high school for you? how did it go? and was it the best?

High school.?
It was the greatest experience. I thought I knew a lot, I didn't have too many acquired beliefs, and I didn't have any financial responsibilities. It offered the best combination: self-confidence, unbiased, and financially free.
Reply:terrible, u have to consider that fact that im in 12th grade now and this is the forth HS ive been to...my dad is in the Air Force and we have move so many times! it isnt the best years of my life, i can honestly say...better when i was younger (17yrs old now) but after HS, when im in college...it will get better, way better!!! =)
Reply:Well considering im still in it, it stinks. I go to a college prep school where everything is serious. They keep us busy every second and then load us up with work over weekends and sometimes holidays. I like hanging out with my friends though. Its a tradition every year for the juniors to raise money and have a banquet in honor for the seniors with a theme and everything. I think hosting that will be fun. Ive heard its one of the best times at my school.
Reply:i hated school
Reply:I'm in high school right now.

But it's fine for me so far.
Reply:I loathed high school! I grew up in an area that didn't allow advancement for "smart" kids and while I hated it I was ALWAYS Teacher's Pet, so the other kids went out of their way to make my school days a living torment! College on the other hand was fantastic, those were the best of my school years, college!
Reply:Second only to college. In high school, I did things because I didn't know any better. In college, I did the same things because I knew better.
Reply:high school is ok but college is better

High school?

heyy im going into high school next year how is it...(details)

High school?
in the beginnng, it'll seem really hard. There's a bit more work, but not an obscene amount more.

The school's bigger, so if its open the week before walk your schedule then.

There are more long-term projects.

There are (depending on the school) smokers and a few drug users, mostly weed...Some bathrooms are so bad in my school that you can smell it without going in...

it all depends on your school though, but be ready for a change
Reply:be prepared for the worst 4 years of your life

i had to repeat sophomore year twice I HATE HIGH SKOOL!!
Reply:well, im a freshman this year and i found that u get used to it after a few weeks. it can get a little bet hectic though with all of the upperclassmen rushing past you all the time. heres a tip, always try to be on time to class. at my school, if you get 3 tardies, you get detention.....the bells get kinda annoying but you get used to it...
Reply:well...i'll say that it's kind of hard....lots of test....lots of cornell notes...and MUCH MORE HOMEWORK THAN MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!GOOD LUCK IN H.S

Is a vera bradley a good bag to wear around high school?

And, do you like the new color, Windsor Navy?

High school?
Absolutely, at my school they are very trendy and lots of girls have them. Since they have cute patterns, nice handles, and are washable, they are great as book bags or purses.

Windsor navy is nice, very few of her patterns are ugly.
Reply:my friends wear vera bradley but i personally think their ugly
Reply:you know, i've never heard of the co9lour or the bag. Just wear whatever...dont concentrate on your brand of bag.
Reply:Wow...im kinda a tomboy so i don't know. I mean i love purses but why do you worry so much about wat bag u wear to school?? Just wear somthin comfy
Reply:It's very durable and unique...I have one I keep my laptop in at High School. Yeah, it's not a Coach or Burberry, but its perfect for holding your magazines and books when you have to walk a bit. I like the Windsor Navy as well and mind is the lime green and hot pink.
Reply:vera who?

just don't get the backpack vera
Reply:It's cute in its own way and it looks like a comfy bag to wear around the school. Windsor Navy is, in my opinion, okay. But, personally, I prefer the Java Blue.
Reply:Lol. Backpacks are the ****. But ever since my Freshman year, i notced that no one is all that serious about them. Most guys have like a spiderman backpack or a superman one. Some chicks have Dora the explorer n all that. You see more plastic elementary packs then anything else.

I myself have a backpack from hot topic. Got it on sale n its my favorite color.

Wear whatever you like. :] High School aint about the backpack, its about whats in side. :o
Reply:they are ok, but very unoriginal. I would go for a more classic Fendi bag, such as the one in our newest issue of VOGUE.
Reply:I don't know what those things are but as long as the bag is comfortable for you and carries your books, I don't see what's wrong with it.

what should expect in high school from

.teachers

.friends

.boys

.and clothing style that people would say is tackey or not...don't get me wrong here i'm not going to try to dress like every one else i'm going to stay with my own style i just want to know

High school?
Teachers- You will have some bad ones but hopefully at least one good one that you connect with. Some are understanding about your learning style and others will only accept work done their way.

Friends- You will meet new people and so will your current friends. You may drift apart from your current friends for various reasons.

Boys will be boys. Some will act like they are still in middle school and others will mature.

Dress in what ever you feel comfortable in. Create your own style and go with it. It will make you unique. Who cares what the current trend is and what labels people are wearing on their butts.

Everyone reacts differently to high school. Just go with the flow and you will find your place.
Reply:I expect teachers will be strict and my friends will be more and more!
Reply:I'm as stuck as you are...
Reply:hey im in high school too haha =]

im a senior umm well i know for sure you have to pass a state test to walk. and then your junior year is hardest cause you have ALOT of tests like random tests sometimes states give you. you should try to keep your grades as high as you can and study for ACT cause thats the most important state test exam there is right now. most colleges will look at your ACT rather than SAT 's more. its best you study for both.

hmm style if you look around or go to a mall you'll see cute styles you might wanna try =]

boys are boys lol alot of them can be immature but a BIG majority is mature...well depending on what state you live in.
Reply:every school is different. people will be more mature.
Reply:depends on what high school you attend. As far as teachers, they dont really care as much about you like when you were in a lower grade. Friends will be growing up right in front of your eyes. guys and clothes all depend on the school and area
Reply:well here it is!

Teachers: they will be a LOT tougher and give you loads of work to do, but they're way better than they were in middle school. they treat you like actual adults, not uneducated toddlers.

Friends: a lot of people change in high school, so you may end up not being as close to some of your friends as you once were, but don't worry, this doesn't always happen! also, you'll get loads of other friends from all 4 grades, because high school is kind of like a huge community of sorts.

Boys: they're much more mature (well, sort of lol) in high school once they were in middle school, because they aren't as pubescent and chock-full of hormones. sure, some of them may still be idiots, but overall it's wayyy better than in middle school.

Clothing: since, like i said, high school is a community, people wear all sorts of clothes (some is even really ugly lol), but people really don't care too much. a lot of people make a point to wear skirts and stuff, and then some people will just go around in sweats or even pajamas. it doesn't really matter. but you can always be safe with a pair of jeans and a cute tshirt!
Reply:TEACHERS-they will be MUCH more strict than middle school. They also expacet a lot more from you.

FRIENDS-they come and go. true friends will stay with you through all of high school. many go separate ways. But try to make as many new friends as possible, in any grade.

BOYS-a little more mature, but dont expect too much. You get what you get.

CLOTHING STYLE- every school is different. I agree with you and stick with your own style. Teens nowadays can get away with wearing pretty much anything. You'll be suprised at what some of the kids wear once the get to highschool.

OVERALL- You will be fine. High school is way better than middle school. Tons more freedom, friends, and fun. Less cliques too which is always a plus. Good luck and just have fun. You won't be able to take back those years.
Reply:Ahh high school , going into my freshman yar i wondered the same thing. As a sophmore I'm gonna help you out.

Teachers, theyre not soo bad. Some youll love some youll hate, stay on there good side regardless and youll do just fine.

Friends, the cruel truth is, some of the are going to change. Theyll start haning out with other people nad this is where you see the formation of groups. IE jocks, preps, emo etc. Stay ot of it all, be yourself, don't go towards any one social group because if you do, youll lose frinds you had hat are into different things.

Boys...Being a guy myself, things really started hapening in the spring of 8th grade, I met my first REAL girlfriend and w'eve been dating now for about a year and a half. So if by highschool you mean going into 7th you havent a thing to worry about...yet. But if your going to be a freshman, and your decently attractive, be prepared to be getting a little more attention from guys. Hormones rageing theyll start talking to you a lot more. Again, be yourself, and just calm down, the worst thing you can do is act weird around them, but if you do, dont worry you can make up for it easily.

Now clothing. This is big with boy attention too. Basically, try and look nice, go for cute and stay away from being too slutty. It's not fun, especially if youve made enemies, Rumors, are probably the worst part of highschool. Umm spend some money on your clothes, dont go too overboard, Its highschool, not a wedding.

Well thats all I got for ya, ooh and avoid carrying a binder, head to your locker between classes everyone does. So good luck in highschool I hope I helped calm your nerves.
Reply:cant really say anything am in the same suitiation as you.school starts on thursday september the 6 and am nervous as hell.

High school?

Reply:no
Reply:everyone has them at school and they start to sicken me....

so unoriginal...they make no statement...

Im giong to high school on september and ive heard some people say that u have to do some helping like go to hospitals and help is that true?

High School?
Are you talking about volunteering? Volunteering is not a requirement (unless you're in certain clubs), but it is definitely a great idea! Start as early as possible, especially if you want to go to college. Volunteering looks great on college and job applications.
Reply:Uhhhh i dont think that a school can force you to Volunteer... after all it is volunteering!
Reply:If you go into special clubs then you will have to earn community service hours to stay in. Key Club was the one at my high school. Community Service hours also help immensely with Colleges. If you are looking towards college, start now with community service! it will help alot!
Reply:Depends on where you're going to high school. I went to high school in a private exclusive catholic school here in the Philippines and every year, we had a "reaching out activity". First year was a wet market, second year was tree planting, third year was house building, and fourth year, we went to a maximum security prison.
Reply:LoL where did u hear that?
Reply:no

High School!!???

I'm going to high school next year. i wanted to know what is it like??? hard, easy, struggling ext. any-thing i should watch out for?

HELP???

High School!!???
OMG i'm a freshmen and it's completely different then you expect. Yes you may miss your "old" friends but highschool is better. But on the first week of school BE THE MOST OUTGOING PERSON EVER!!! I'm usually shy and timid, but as time went on i made more and more frends. I may not know EVERYONE but i kno a fair share. But i still wish i took the chance to be outgoing.Don't be afraid, take the chance or you'll lose it. Highschool is completely different from middle school. You actually can become friends with upperclassmen. And plus don't try to act tough against upperclassmen. They're higher than you are and that's why they should get more respect. Yes it may seem annoying as hell as i see it, but that's just the way it is.

Also join A LOT of clubs. right now i'm in SIX!! and i'm running for freshmen official.

so all i have to say is to be outgoing and do not be a afraid.
Reply:hi, what i can share with you is...high school is the best days in my life. you will enjoy the company of your new peers, teachers, and even your seniors. activities are overwhelming and chances are, you can find your best friend for the next years of your stay in high school. but of course, its not all fun, the grades you will create in high school shall be your future. whatever grades you'll get, thats the course you can possibly take up in college. so have fun, enjoy, maximize to the fullest, and always remember study hard for your future rely on what you're doing today.
Reply:iam going to highschool next year too. And ive asked the same question. Well ill tell you so far what i know about it. You have to learn alot because your in highschool to get in College you have to learn algebra, spanish, have mid-term test, and do alot of projects.

You should watch out for your classmates remember your freshmens you may know a few people but the rest you dont know highschools tough for 4 years to College. And theres some cliques and gossip be careful .But you'll still have fun with your friends.

Have fun good luck soon.
Reply:It really depends on how hard working person you are. But, also it can depend on the school and your teachers.
Reply:This is the year you should take high school seriously.
Reply:It depends on you, the school, the people...

One person can go to high school and find it very easy and nothing a big deal. The kid next to him who's in all his classes can spend his time super stressed, struggle with marks, etc.

It's really not any different than school before high school, imho!
Reply:I am a freshmen in high school right now. I'm afraid that since I go to a private Catholic high school my high school experience isn't what the average American experiences. I can tell you, however, that high school is really fun. There are a lot of new people that you can meet, with all different types of personalities and styles and everything. Don't try to hard to label yourself, find a bunch of friends that you can relate to, and have fun. Classes aren't hard, you'll just need to keep up by doing all of your homework and studying for tests. It's not that different from middle school, except that you're faced with more decisions, more people, more situations, more classes, more oppurtunities. Have fun!
Reply:Step 1: RELAX!!-i'm a freshman, i was in your place a year ago-FREAKED OUT-fotunetly-here to help you

Step 2: talk to your friends, do you have sibling in the HS do any of your friends?

Step 3: Most schools offer visitation days at the end of your 8th grade year, a week/days before scool starts, or even let you come an hour or so early on the first day, fotunetly my school did all, maby yours does... if your elementry/MS are seperate, did you ever visit the MS before starting?

Step 4: Do you know of any clubs/music happining prior to school starting? If you play an instroment, most marching bands have 'band camp' and clubs meet before to talk to freshmen

or try a sport, they practice before school starts in fall, also helps you with agoal: make varsity team

Step 5: Know what to expect(more) go to your guidence counsiler or a favorite teacher

Beware: Cliques, and a harder couse laod, be prepared!!

there may be upperclassmen in your classes, be friends to them

GOOD LUCK!! HAVE FUN!! HS is the best time of your life!!!!
Reply:it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be...

-the course load is alot harder... well, duh every year it seems to get worse dunnit?

-there are serious clique problems

but probably the biggest difference about high school is... especially if you've going to the same school with the same people your whole life -- people seriously change. like people you've known your whole life seem to have completely different personalities. but otherwise, life goes on IT'S REALLY NOT BAD.
