High school?

Okay, I've been homeschooled all the life and not, for 9th grade i am going to a public high school.

Can you guys tell me what its like? I mean, how are the classes, the people and everything else.

Thanks!

High school?
You remind me of my friend.

I dont go to a public high school though, I go to an all-girl high school. But I suppose its still the same. Somewhat.

Classes have the same purpose but this time you have to deal with groupwork. A great thing about classrooms is it teaches you how to prepare and handle social situations. Seriously, our world relies so much in communication we have technology evolve everyday to provide us with high-tech gizmos for cellphones. Youd be asked to answer some questions. Learn how properly and intelligently deliver your opinion. Also, you'll learn how to cope with criticisms of people who object with your opinions.

As for people. Some students are mean some are nice. Just depends on who you hang out with. You'll meet the cliques and you'll meet the non-cliques. You'll see the differences of cliques just by their attires, their lingo, their music, and even their beliefs. Try to look up social psychology.

One thing you need to know about 9th grade. People are afraid to be alone. Why? Because of the stereotype of alone as being "A Loner Now and Ever". Dont let that stupid stereotype get to you. If you watch chickflicks, youd probably see a good glimpse of what cliques are like. Except most are probably exaggerated.

Activities are great, thats when you really harness your abilities and discover that youre actually good at something you never thought you could do. Not only that you also develop strong friendships with people who might share the same interest as you do.

As for socializing and lunch activities. You'll get the drama. Obviously, thats when you start to use your morality and values. You will undergo peer pressure and be forced to bend some of what you strongly believe and what youre against. Youd also go through the undermining of some people who do no understand the meaning of human dignity aka bullying.

High school life is harsh if you let it get to you. But, if you make the right choice for friends and say no to the wrong type of people, you'll enjoy most of it.

Remember what your mom says, no to drugs and alcohol and save that virginity after marriage.
Reply:im in the eighth grade.

in an american school u get to make friends

and fun activities like

sports

arts and

music.

all the teachers i know r v. sweet

u have too get books and bring them to your classrooms

school can be boring a bit
Reply:it is fun and they have clubs and teams you can join but classes will be a little boring
Reply:it depend but mostly the clases are pretty easy you can choose most of the time what clases you are for what level of smartness you are and the people everyone in my school is always nice to new people and i go to a big school cafeteria food is ok
Reply:The classes? Mostly useless, but a way to get through the day. Nothing special or in any way challenging. If I recall correctly, it's too easy.

The people? Mean. You'll probably get teased a lot for being home schooled and because you probably don't have the social skills or experience with being bullied it'll be worse for you than the other kids. You might find yourself a few friends, but that'll take some work and even then they could turn on you depending on how much you get picked on. If you are good looking, you might be able to get through high school with minimal bullying, but your home school history is a definite disadvantage even if you don't tell anyone, they'll smell you out like blood to sharks. There were a few kids in my school that came in fresh from home schooling. I don't think any of them made it until graduation and this was at a private Christian school. Have you considered correspondence work?
Reply:It really depends on what school you're going to.

My high school is insanely small and the people there are always scrounging around for new friends. So when new people come there more then happy to befriend them. haha. It's kinda pitiful...well, at least the new people get friends fast.

I actually know someone that was home schooled until 8th grade. She's nice. I've talked to her a few times in PE.

Classes are boring. haha. It depends on what school you go to but most of them have you sit in 6 different classes for roughly one hour. High school classes are filled with stuff you'll never use again. ALL of my homework that I bring home my mom doesn't know how to do it. And she gets by haha. but for some weird reason someone decided that we had to learn it.

all in all high school's not bad. At least my experience wasn't. (or isn't. I'm done with 10th grade in 2 weeks. Yays.)

OH and good luck :]
