High school?????

okay, so i am just signing up for classes/activities for high school. I heard that colleges like variety, so:

i am planning on doing:

Debate

Orchestra

Chorus

Mimes

Chinese

possibly Drama

Service club

School newspaper

is that enough variety?

High school?????
lol, and try to volunteer
Reply:What about your academic classes ex. chemistry, biology, english, history, etc.? Those are pretty important. You need to check out the entrance requirements for the college you are interested in. Also, they really look at volunteer and work experience. Choose a few key things and really focus on them. Don't get burned out either by trying to do too much.
Reply:yuppp
Reply:they care more about your grades. those come more into play when you go into a specialized program, or if your grades are just bellow what they want.
Reply:That's a lot of activities! Are you considering a liberal arts college? I noticed you didn't list any sports, math or science clubs? If you're leaning towards a liberal art college, I'd say, you're good to go. I hope you don't overwhelm yourself, keep your grades in the Honors, they look at that first! Good luck, seems you have a great future ahead of you. :)
Reply:who cares about the variety your learning mime.
Reply:It's great you have so many interests. I think colleges will be impressed even if you do 1/3 of these.
Reply:do you want to do all of them? do you want THAT much variety.
Reply:Yes very much so

Debate is fun (I'm in it)

And Orchestra is good for scholarships (I'm in it)

And Chinese will help you get into competative colleges
Reply:don't drown yourself in extracurriculars that you don't have time for academics

take some honor classes too
Reply:lol MIMES!!

sounds fun, i think colleges will like it
Reply:Yah, just don't overload yourself too much. As long as you've been in like 3 or 4 clubs that's good enough. What really looks good though is AP tests and classes so be sure to take a good deal of those. You will be THANKING yourself when you get to college that you do not have to spend money to re-learn something.
Reply:i would add some community service projects for sure...

and just try and keep your GPA as high as possible.

but, yeah, thats a lot!
Reply:chinese!

why not spanish!
