High school?

Hi, I was wondering if there was any Anthropology majors here, and my question is: Should I take Chemistry or Calculus in High School, or is it just a waste?

High school?
I'm not an anthro major, but I study something similar.

Chemistry is not typically a required course in social sciences. Some level of college math, however, is required across the board. Algebra might suffice for that requirement, but calculus would certainly help you more than chemistry unless you change your mind and want to go pre-med or engineering.

However, education is not a waste. I would take both in high school, unless you have to pick one or the other, in which case I'd choose calculus.
Reply:I would take Calculus, you are more respected for calculus because it's harder.
Reply:I am not an Anthropology Major.

Chemistry and Calculus in high school are worth taking because you may take placement tests and get college credits for o good grasp of science.

I didn't take Calculus until I was 40. My Bachelor's degree is in Art and it's not that marketable.

I say get a degree that will earn you money. Minor in Anthropology but teach Math or Chemistry, maybe. Maybe go to medical school.

If you want to earn lots of money be a plumber !
Reply:Chemistry is a pre-requisite in all sciences. It will get you into forensics, nursing, investigation, oceanography, archeology, etc.
Reply:yeah. if you're planning to take up anthropology in college, get ready for more chemistry and physics...calculus? just basic math...had to take my chemistry %26amp; physics class twice. sigh.

-BA Anthro major
Reply:Take what you like and excel at it. There's nothing to sneeze at either one. If you are looking to go into Physical Anthropology, you might want to take more chemsitry than calculus.
