High School?

ok, im in the 10th grade, and I want to take AP english, my grade in english is an A. At my school, you need to get teacher initials for recommendation to any AP class, when I asked my english teacher which AP class I should take, she said american lit(regular english). English has always been my best subject and I really want to take AP. Should I take the english AP exam and if I pass do the class anyways ?

High School?
I think you should... I also plan on taking a AP English %26amp; AP US History class next year! It won't be easy... but if you take notes, keep up with your work, and study then I'm sure you'd do good! Keep your grades up!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Yea, I think you should, definitely. If you want to and you're ready to, then go for it. A little comment like that shouldn't hold you back. Best of luck
Reply:Yes definnetly. If you pass the ap exam you get college credit for your first year and part of your softmore year. This is more important if you take ap cal ab and ba and ap bio, chem and physics ap us history and world history and microeconomics and macroeconomics. The more AP that you take the better when you get to college. The top schools like Harvard, Yale, NYU, Cornell Columbia, UChicago, UPenn. and so on like this and this is how the applicant pool is.
Reply:okay well my take is that if your teachers say no but you think you can, site back and think a little bit.One hand you think you can your grades look great. Other hand your teachers aren't recommending you for that class. Maybe or have you asked Why.. Ask and be like Why do u think i wont be able to maintain a high grade.. But if your gut feeling says do it than hey take the test and prove them wrong but if your second guessing it than i wouldn't do it... But hey don't take my word do what makes You feel comfortable safe and assure yourself a "A".. Hope this helps you in a way. Just trust ur instincts
