I'm going to high school this fall, and I'm kind of scared. i mean new school, new friends, new classes, new teachers. I don't know anything. I'm the oldest in my family and has no one to tell me how it's like or what I have to be care full for. Anyone want to tell me their experience?
High School?
i just finished my freshmen year of high school and it was easier than i expected...i go to a college prep school, so the workload is big and there are lots of credits to be earned!!! the main tip to remember is to KEEP EVERYTHING...every single handout that a teacher gives is important...i would suggest buying a file cabinet for at home, and when you finish a unit, file all of your stuff...it will be very helpful when finals come around...other than that, just make sure your organized...make sure you have a daily planner(many schools provide them...if not, go to walmart) to write down all assignments and after school activities... right before bed every night, look at your planner to make sure you didnt forget everything...if you did, decide whether you should stay up late or get up early to do it....last, go to bed as early as possible...for me, it seemed like everyone thought it was cool to be up until midnight, but i prefer going to bed around 9 pm...if you are afraid that your friends will call during your early bedtime, then ask your parents to pick up and say you are out babysitting or in the shower!!!
good luck in high school...dont stress out!!!
p.s. dont worry about what boys think
Reply:well as now being a sophomore last year as a freshman.... i guess the classes do tend to get kind of harder, teachers stricter, more peer pressure, retarded upper classmen:who think pickin of freshman is a joke... just dont fall into that stuff. stick wit ur friends and try to make some descent fun out of it. if you did good in junior high then you have absolutely nothin to worry about.
Reply:It mostly depends on the high school your going too. The one that im going to is okay.....there are some "harsh" teachers but in the end, those "harsh" and "mean" teachers are the ones that teach you the most and leave a greater impact on you during that school year...Im also the oldest in my family and the first one that has ever reached past 7th grade..but think of it this way....when your little brother or sister is about to enter the high school, you'll be there to tell them all about the experiences you had while you were there and you'll help them out alot....trust me.. =) Hope i helped =)
Reply:You will get through it because you have to. Your first day, wear a cool new outfit and find people you click with. Do your homework and get good grades from day one so you can get into a good college. Dont do any drugs including alcohol. Don't have sex even though you've been going out with a guy for like 5 minutes and you think you love him. Realize that you have your whole life ahead of you to be an adult so embrace still being a kid and don't think you know everything.
Reply:I was scared too but then I got over it. High School will be your new home for the next four years. Just make some new friends that you can hang with and trust. Enjoy all your classes and the teachers. Make sure you get your homework done and so forth. Join some clubs or sports if that interests you. Have fun at assemblies. Just try to make it the best four years of your life because before you know it it will be over and you will be missing it like crazy. High School was the best years of my life. I had such a blast.
Reply:Boring. It's just a new school with subjects taught by crappy teachers and the same friends (if you're going to the same school as they are).
Reply:Be yourself around peers, suck up to teachers when no one is watching, do your homework, challenge yourself with hard courses, treat others the way you want to be treated, do lots of extra curricular activities, get a job and save your money, figure out what you want to do when you grow up, save boys, drugs, and alcohol for college... If you do all this your life after high school will be soooo much better I promise!
Reply:Homework gets 10X harder
DONT do drugs no matter what. They ruin your life and all your efforts.
Make new friends : )
