okay i am in 7th grade now, but go to a charter public school which is NOTHING AT ALL like a reg. public school....there r kids from all over the state....i am going to the public high school so what to expect???
High school???
Mainly, be prepared for a) kids who have known each other and have gone to school together all their lives, b) kids who don't want to be in school, whose parents don't have to pay anything for them to be there so don't really appreciate or respect what they have, and whose purpose in life seems to be making sure no one else enjoys the experience either, and c) a school staff that HAS to put up with bad behavior and can't kick kids out almost no matter what they do to make life miserable for everyone else.
Other than that, it's survivable if you learn to concentrate, set your own priorities, hang out with kids with goals and attitude the same as yours, and, to the extent that your personality allows, try to be leader instead of a follower. If you can't be a leader, at least be very sure that whoever you follow is really worth following.
Good luck.
Reply:it will be a lot harder
1)kids will treat u different
2)teachers will treat u different
3)depending on ur current grading system u might get graded different
4)it will overall be a lot different and maybe difficult for u
but if u be urself and make alot of friends nothing should go wrong
just dont get in trouble alot. or u will get suspended. haha dont get into huge fist fights n get thrown out for 5 days with a $400 fine. yea it can happen. i kno this becuz it happened to me last year. thats why i chose to do cyber school.
Good Luck :)
Edit:
Dont act up in the middle of class (ex: driving teachers insane, picking on ppl, etc.) or they can/will kick u out of class. I was kicked out of class soooo many times it wasnt funny. well actually it was but only 2 me n my freinds. haha
Reply:To be successful, join a group. Run for a class office, as in the first few weeks, no one really knows anyone. Get your foot in the door, and maintain good, decent friends. This should keep you busy and out of trouble.
If you can't get elected, volunteer or take music lessons. These will also help you later, as you graduate, and look great on a resume.
Reply:Its very different because there's a more variety of people and different crowds of people and your going to want to figure out a crowd that you belong in and it gets difficult at times because certain people wont want to except you but you gotta keep in mind to be yourself no matter what!
Reply:different things !!!
- kids treat you dif .
- meaner teachers .
- the teachers grade harder .
- alot to keep up with .
- be yourself ! good luck
