i'm about to start high school and i'm taking 2 AP classes; English and Geography.
What should i expect?
High school?
im taking both of those 2, im also a freshman....from wat i hear in ap english it is homework every night, and papers just about every week, sounds no fun....geography probably won't be as much homework, but just as much in class
Reply:not American but from my exp.
English's shakespear plays, metaphorical poetry, non-shake spear play (which is ea slier but your expected to know more about it) and a whole load of essays.
geography is not only study of climate change, mountains, natural disasters but studies of tourism, 3rd world countries.
but in your first year they'll be alot ea slier on you then in the years after to appreciate the slack they give you
Reply:i was a freshman last year, i didn't take those classes but i had friends who did. for English they got a lot more work. they did the same things as normal English classes but they packed it in and on. my friends were always complaining about all the reading they had to do. plus they had to take some kind of state test and a final at the end of the year. for geography my friend didn't say much but she did say there was a lot more work.
Reply:Expect a lot of homework, studying, and papers.
Reply:don't worry about it, english you will just have a lot more reading material and you will have to write more papers, it's definitely more work but not that bad. As for math you don't need to worry at all... you will have a lot more homework and i mean a lot and you will be learning at a quicker pace than the other kids and learning more but what you cover in that class won't necessarily be harder, everything in geometry has a specific equation, you can't make it any more complicated than it is for example the circumference of a circle is 2πr... there is no way to make it harder, it is what it is. just don't stress about your classes and you will be fine, i always take advanced classes, they're really not as bad as everyone says they are
Reply:A lot more in depth studies in those 2 areas. Usually means more work than those in normal classes. Usually requires more time for studying/homework. Harder tests, but possible college credit with the AP test
Reply:expect alot of homework
english papers every week
