High school??

hi, umm, i don't live in the states though, but i would like to know how u guys go to normal high school everyday...like in my country, we have to wear this ugly uniform that makes me look fat everyday...but in the states, u can wear anything u want, rite? i wanna know everything, from the classrooms to the lunch break....practically everything...





well, it's because i'm moving to the states! i'm gonna reside in l.a...

Reply:Yup. like 90% of the schools will let you wear anything you want (public schools) and they're free.


There are private schools as well though,most of them will make you wear a uniform, but they cost money..


Other than that the high schools are pretty much how they are in Hollywood movies.. cheerleaders, drama, preps, goths, etc..
Reply:You get to wear what you want,but it has to be school's approprate. It's depent on which school you go, like in my high school you can wear almost anything.


You cannot have your cellphone on.If it rinds in the class time, then they are going to take it to the dea,'s office.Your parent has to pick it up. At lunch time you go to the caffiteria where they have long big tables, for some school they have small round tables so you can seat with your freinds and chat. SOme high school, you can go to the library and study at lunch time. High school in here is much more fun then middle school. They have a lot of clubs. you should join some. If you are a freshmen, you should not go to where all the juniur and seniurs go at lunch time. They have there own places where they kisses and all thse discusting stuff. You must not do any thing wrong because the will give you saturday school. In saterdayschool, you got to seat in a room alone with a mean teacher for hours not doing anything.
Reply:In the states, people who go to private schools wear uniforms. Most public schools around here let you wear whatever you want but they do have their restrictions. Like no goin to school looking like a whore and no wearing your pants down to your ankles, like most guys do.
Reply:umm well not all high schools u can wear anything u want, i go to a catholic high school and i need to wear a pretty nice uniform, it doesnt bother me because everyone looks the same, and then i drive to school and go in the cafeteria in the morning, talk to my friends, wait for the bell to ring, go to the 3rd floor, go get my books in my locker, go to my homeroom, wait for the bell to ring, go to world civ and learn, go to spanish and learn, go to web design and learn, go to geometry and learn, go back to my locker, put away my books i dont have homework in, go to the cafeteria for study hall, go back to my locker to get religion, go to religion and learn, go to the cafeteria to eat lunch and we have vending machines for snapple, candy, soda, pizza, cinnamon buns, we also have cafeteria food like steak and cheese, cup of noodles, etc., and then i go to my locker and get my bio and english books, go to bio and learn, go to english and learn, then i go back to my locker, get my homework, backpack, and coat and leave, sorry i made it kinda short but i need to answer others questions of course but im a freshman in high school and i get driven to school everyday so yeah thats about it
Reply:well you get to wear whatever you want even a bikini but only in the summer though. classes are fun, and in lunch you sit where ever you want with wohever you want. but you gotta be careful cuz alot of ppl pressure you to do stuff that arent good and afterschool detentions are 2 hours which really sucks

i live in NYC and i attend a private school in manhatten so i wear a uniform, but if you go to a public school then you can wear basically whatever you want.





i'm pretty sure the way things are structured in school scheduals is similar to how things are in your country. i have 5 periods of 75 minutes each. but thats because i don't take all my classed everyday, i take them every other day.


some schools have scheduals similar to my school. while others a quite different. for example you could go to a schools that has 6-7 periods of 45 minutes each. with a period for lunch.





at lunch you can sit whever you like and school lunches differ for each school but usually you can find something to eat.


in some schools like mine you may go out for lunch too.

Reply:High School huh. I went through the Los Angeles County of Education.. LACOE. Pretty much an ordinary day of school would start at 750 in the morning. Yes you can wear whatever you want. No hats and obscene clother. But class would last till 245. You would get lunch from 1205 to 110 and a ten minute break at 945
